Choosing a new domain name

Prior to selecting a new name ensure your organisation is eligible here.

The format of naming for Town Councils is usually [TOWN-name]"-tc.gov.uk"
For example:  "buckingham-tc.gov.uk"

Or sometimes in the form of [TOWN-name]".gov.uk"
For example:  "bude-stratton.gov.uk"

In either case the shorter the name the better, this will make it easier to convey the name to others.
